Advanced Styling Workshop

PART II

Heavy wire (6 gauge) is applied to the two halves . Styling options are now considered. Branch removal begins, and the tree begins to take shape

Once the heavy wire has been applied, finer wire is applied to the branches. Here Soli and Chase are wiring each and every branch right to the tip of each. The left half of the trunk has been given a 180 degree twist, to better align the branches artistically.

A few final adjustments are made, positioning small branches in the ideal location.

The finished tree! A pine such as this one will probably have to be kept in the raffia and wire for a period of about two years. It is entirely possible that the callus formed will eventually roll ever the exposed heartwood. A rugged round pot would compliment the style of the tree.
